As defined by the State of North Carolina General Assembly, § 115C-105.37: “Low-performing schools are those that receive a school performance grade of D or F and a school growth score of “met expected growth” or “not met expected growth.” ABSS has 17 identified schools.

1. Submit a preliminary plan for improving the school performance grade (SPG) and school growth score.

2. In December, the Board will vote on the Improvement Plans.

3. Provide written notification to the parents/guardians of each identified low-performing school that includes 5 identified factors.

4. Plans for schools and the district will be made available for feedback from stakeholders.

5. Low-Performing Schools will participate in a Super Observation.
