ECPAC currently has openings for membership on the council. If a parent is interested in joining ECPAC, they should contact Heather Ouzts, Parent Liaison, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 336-438-4000 ext. 37840 for more information. The council typically meets the fourth Thursday at 7pm at the ABSS Administrative Offices located at 1712 Vaughn Rd, Burlington.
ECPAC (The Exceptional Children’s Parent Advisory Council) is looking for new members. ECPAC is a small group of parents selected to represent students with disabilities as an advisory council to ABSS administrators, in particular our Executive Director, Allen Murray. ECPAC serves as an advocate for students and parents and as a “collective voice” in addressing system-wide issues concerning students with disabilities. ABSS is one of the few schools systems in the state that provides this opportunity to this group of parents and looks to continue to collaborate with parents in meeting the needs of our students with disabilities. ABSS would like to continue to have diverse representation in the ECPAC of students including diversity in disability areas, school levels (elementary, middle, and high), school zones, race, ethnicity, and socio-economics. The parent must be a parent of a student receiving special education services through ABSS.
