Leslie Sharpe, Nurse Practitioner, Sylvan Community Health Center
Leslie Sharpe has been in nursing for over 25 years. Following her graduation from UNC Chapel Hill in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Leslie served for 6 ½ years as a critical care nurse in the United States Air Force at both the Wright-Patterson AFB Medical Center and the United States Air Force Academy Hospital. In 1991, Leslie returned to UNC to work in the hospital’s Respiratory Intensive Care Unit for several years. Hospice nursing is also among her prior employment experience. In 1996, Leslie commenced her second degree from UNC Chapel Hill – a Master’s in Nursing through the university’s Family Nurse Practitioner program. For the past 13 years, Leslie has worked as a nurse practitioner at Pittsboro Family Medicine, providing care for patients of all ages. She is currently married with two kids (ages 23 and 16). Leslie enjoys working with children and families, and she is excited to be a founding provider of Sylvan Community Health Center.
