"The What's After High School? Program is a K-12 college access and career awareness program developed to insure that all students have an understanding of their options after high school: enrollment in college, enlistment in the military, employment."
ABSS is proud to be one of eleven NC school systems participating in the U.S. Department of Education and UNC General Administration GEAR UP grant. GEAR UP stands for “Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs.” ABSS GEAR UP schools are Hugh M. Cummings High, Broadview Middle, Walter Williams High, Turrentine Middle, Graham High and Graham Middle Schools.
ABSS is a proud participant in the national College for Every Student, Inc. campaign to prepare and send more students to college. Starting in 2008, ABSS and Elon University began exploring opportunities to collaborate in our middle schools towards raising awareness about college and career options. Each ABSS middle school has a “Middle School College Ready Corps (MSCC).”
