PTO Nominees for the 2017-18 School Year
 Nominations for President


Kristen LeBlanc was born in Saint John NB Canada. She moved with her family to NC in 1997. She has lived in Haw River for the past 4yrs. Kristen is a mother of 2; Zaydin (8) and Zoie (4). Zaydin will be a 3rd grader at Garrett and Zoie will be joining the Gator family soon.

Kristen is an IT analyst for Duke’s electronic health record system and has been employed by Duke for the past 11yrs.

Kristen is currently the President of the Garrett PTO and truly loves it. Kristen is also the team mom for her son’s baseball team; Go Crushers!!

Some of Kristen’s passions are her family, friends, social  gatherings, planning events, crafting and making people smile.



Aaron Davis is an Illinois native who has lived in Mebane for 6 years.  Aaron is married to his amazing wife Jennifer and will have four children at Garrett next year.  

 Professionally, he works in the Recreation field and enjoys playing golf and basketball when he has free time.

 He is motivated by helping others and seeing children smile and having fun!




Nominations for Vice President
Christene Kislowski was born in New York and has lived in North Carolina for 10 years. Mebane for 3&1/2 years.  Christene is married to her husband Joe and has one child at Garrett.

Christene worked at Costco as a Certified Pharmacy Technician for 16 years before leaving last June to become a stay at home mom.  Christene wanted to be able to volunteer and be readily available to help out at Garrett. Christene is currently the Vice President on the board and has really enjoyed being a part of the PTO for our teachers and students.

Some of Christene's passions and hobbies include spending time with family and friends, planning school events, cleaning and organizing!



Megan Edwards was born and raised right here in Mebane. She and her husband Chris have been married 10 years and live on a sweet little farm just down the road from Garrett Elementary with their 3 beautiful kids. Neil in second grade, Leah in Kindergarten and Kylee, 18months old, will attend Garrett in a few years.

Megan is a busy full time mom and part time wellness coach. She enjoys country living raising her kids, garden and farm animals.

She feels family is extremely important and wants to be a part of her kids education and school activities. She hopes more parents will join the PTO efforts to care for our students and staff!

Nomination for Secretary


Shelia Rudder is a North Carolina native. Born and raised in Kinston, NC. She has been in the Mebane area for a little over 10 years. She has a daughter and son at Garrett. Go Science Olympiads!!!

Shelia has worked in retail, nursing, and day care. She is currently a stay at home mom.  If elected this will be her first time representing the pto.

Shelia wanted to run for secretary to be like any parent - help make the school better and represent its staff and students proudly. She feels that she can use her organizational skills to help bring    communication out to the Garrett family, help with parents questions and concerns, but most importantly.... unite parents to support our school and proudly show that GATOR pride.

Nominations for Treasurer
Teresa Snider, is married to Clint of 10 years. They have 2 children, Korbin (9),  and Brinley (6). Teresa is a native of Buffalo, NY,  but has called Alamance County home for 18 years.

She has been a SAHM for the past 8 years. She is our current Box Tops coordinator, a job she's done in previous years and as well has previously held a treasurer position with a claims adjuster’s association. She has also been an active room parent in previous classrooms, organizing classroom directories, parties, teacher gifts and helping where the teacher needed.

She enjoys being outdoors, her favorite season is Fall. She looks forward to many years at Garrett and making it ROCK!



Tina Pierce has lived in Alamance County all her life. She is married to Anthony Pierce who works hard to allow her to be a stay at home mom for over 10 years. They have three wonderful children and two of them attend Garrett.

Tina currently presides as the Garrett representative at the ABSS VOICE Meetings.

Tina is also the parent representative on the Garrett Leadership committee.

Tina’s passion is being able to advocate for all children not just her own.
