NC School of Science and Mathematics Interest Meeting
The North Carolina School of Science & Mathematics is hosting a parent and student interest meeting on Tuesday, October 6th at 6 p.m. at the Alamance-Burlington Career & Technical Education Center (CTEC), 2550 Buckingham Rd. in Burlington.
Parents and students are invited to attend the free event to learn more about the North Carolina School of Science & Mathematics Residential Program, online program, summer program and courses offered at CTEC.
The event is designed for 9th & 10th grade students who are excelling in Honors/AP courses and their parents.
The program will be provided by Ms. Mattie Gaddy-Parks, NCSSM Admissions Counselor.
Free Workshop on Autism
The Alamance-Burlington Schools district-wide Autism Team is holding a free workshop for parents and professionals of children and young adults with autism. On Tuesday, October 13 at 5:30 pm, the Alamance-Burlington Exceptional Children’s program will host Ann Palmer, a parent of a young adult with autism and the author of Realizing the College Dream with Autism or Asperger Syndrome. The event is open to the community and will be held in the professional library at the Alamance-Burlington Schools administrative office at 1712 Vaughn Road in Burlington.
