  On a cold, cloudy March Saturday morning, more than 20 students, faculty and parents of the Alamance Burlington Middle College worked, in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity of Alamance County, to help the City of Elon enhance one of their parks. Four teams of volunteers planted around 100 bushes, bulbs, trees, and flowers in and around Lawrence Slade Park. Digging through muddy, red clay was not the easiest of tasks, but by the end of the three hours of work, all plants were in the ground.​
