In collaboration with families, teachers, staff, community members, and the Alamance County Health Department, ABSS will be seeking the Board of Education’s approval on a revised Plan B. The revised recommendation includes an AA/all remote/BB weekly rotation as well as amended start and end times to accommodate transporting students at reduced capacity.
As we plan, please know that families with students in grades K-8 who are apprehensive about larger, in-person opportunities for instruction may request to remain in a 100% remote instructional model. Additionally, we recognize that the updated start and end times may create or eliminate a family’s need for bus transportation. Schools that have historically offered before-school and after-school care programs will continue to offer those with additional safety guidelines in place.
Finally, please ensure that you complete a survey for each child enrolled in Kindergarten - 8th grade in ABSS, and be sure to have their lunch number on hand when you do. You'll need that to complete the survey in order to ensure that your responses are directed to the correct departments. For families making new or updated requests for transportation and/or face-to-face attendance days, your child’s school will contact you to confirm the information.
