Course Weight: 6.0This course engages students in becoming skilled readers of prose written in a variety of periods, disciplines, and rhetorical contexts. This course allows students to write in a variety of forms – narrative, exploratory, expository, and argumentative on a variety of subjects. The purpose of this course is to enable students to read complex texts with understanding and to write prose of sufficient complexity to communicate effectively. Students are expected to take the AP examination in May. Depending upon their scores on this test, students may receive college credit.
