My name is Toni Caison, Business Department Chair and I am really glad to welcome you and your child to my classroom this semester. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in Accounting. I worked as an Accountant for AT&T and Burlington Industries for 13 years before I made a career change to teaching. I obtained my teaching license from North Carolina State University with certification in Business and Marketing Education. This will be my 13th year teaching Business Education here at Eastern Alamance High School.
This year I will be teaching Microsoft IT Academy - Excel / Access, Microsoft IT Academy - Word / PowerPoint, and Introduction to Computer Science. I believe computer classes to be some of the most important classes taken in high school. Computers are such an integral part of society that any skills learned will benefit ALL students regardless of their career choices. The Microsoft IT Academy classes give the students the unique opportunity to gain industry recognized certification for FREE! Both colleges and employers look for this dedication to computers.
I strongly believe that my business experience brings a unique perspective to the classroom. I can bring real-world examples and experiences to the students. I want to instill in them qualities employers are looking for in their employees. Not just computer skills... but a good work ethic, too!
If you would like to meet me to discuss your child's performance or any other problems that he/she is facing in class, you can feel free to contact me at 919-563-5991 or via email at toni_caison@abss.k12.nc.us.
