• Welcome to Ms. Norwind's webpage! This is my 4th year teaching special education at Eastlawn. I graduated from Elon University with dual major in special and elementary education. I am currently in graduate school at UNCG to get my master's degree in reading. I am so excited to start a new year serving your students. I can't wait to see all the success and growth the students make this year! It is going to be a wonderful year!
     
    This website was made in order to share information and resources in regards to Exceptional Children. Our class will post pictures and videos of us learning! Important links and activities will also be posted. Please use them!
     
    Some Important Terms 
    • IEP- Individualized Education Plan. It is an instructional program designed to meet the individual needs of one student.
    • CBA- Curriculum-based Assessment. An informal assessment that helps to assess each student's performance. The assessments then allow teachers to make decisions about how to better address a student's instructional needs.
    • RTI- Response To Intervention. A tiered process where teachers and other administration document a child's response to research-based intervention. RTI provides early intervention for students who are experiencing difficulties.
