    VetCAMP 2019 - This program is offered to rising high school juniors and seniors and rising college freshman to help them experience veterinary medicine as an exciting career path. The deadline to apply is January 25, 2019. Click here for more information and to apply

     

    Washington University in St. Louis - Washington University offers two summer programs. The first is the Summer Scholars Program. It is for current sophomore or juniors in high school with a minimum 3.3 GPA with an ACT score of at least 25 or SAT of at least 1200. Students will have the opportunity to take introductory courses in the humanities, math, science, and social science. The second program is the High School Summer Institutes. To be eligible you will need to be a current freshman, sophomore, or junior in high school and have a minimum GPA of 3.3. This non credit program explores a specialized interest, career, or major. Some of the institutes are Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Creative Writing, Young Leaders and Environmental Studies.     NC Governor Page Program - Governor Roy Cooper encourages young people in North Carolina to get involved in public and community service through the Governor's Page Program.     Clemson University Summer Scholars program - Clemson University is offering an exciting collegiate experience to high school students. They are offering challenging academic courses while offering experiences of campus life.     Youth Leaders Summit (YLS) - This is a free, four day overnight, college empowerment conference at the University of Chicago for high school juniors. Students will be selected through a competitive application process.     Construction Career Day - The North Carolina Department of Transportation is excited to host its 5th Annual Construction Career Day.     NC State Textiles Summer Program - The application for the Wilson College of Textiles Summer Textile Exploration Program (STEP) is open for high school juniors going into their senior year. The Wilson College holds five one week sessions of STEP each summer. Participants lie on campus, learn about degree programs, the admissions process, scholarships opportunities and work on a project related to one of the majors offered --- Apparel Design, Textile Engineering, Business Management, Textile Design and Polymer Chemistry.     Caminos at NC State - This is a four day residential program for rising high school juniors and seniors with a strong interest in Hispanic/Latin culture. This program will provide you the opportunity to learn about higher education while reinforcing cultural identity and community ties.     Adventures in Biotechnology - The Biogen Community Lab in Research Triangle Park, NC is hosting a free summer lab program for students interested in biotech. You will work with DNA, proteins, and bacteria to make and purify green fluorescent protein. This program is offered to high school students currently in 9th through 12th grades.     Transportation Institute Summer Program at North Carolina A&T State University - This summer program is for rising juniors and seniors. The program is to create an awareness and stimulate interest in students to take maximum advantage of the career opportunities that exist in the transportation industry.     Cornerstone Summer Institute at the University of Virgina - This camp provides rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors with the opportunity to engage in historical investigation, archaeological excavation, and community engagement in order to learn and develop thinking skills that will prepare them for success in college and beyond.     ACLU Summer Advocacy Program (July 20-26) - This summer program brings together high school aged students who are 15 to 18 years old from across the United States to participate in a firsthand learning experience for the next generation of social justice advocates. During this week long program in Washington DC, students participate in electives and seminar led by lobbyists, community activists, lawyers, and ACLU experts to enhance their knowledge of civil liberties, social justice issues, and advocacy campaigns. Click here for more information and an application.

     

    Splash at UNC Chapel Hill - Splash is an educational enrichment program that allows high school students to take classes created and taught by Carolina Students. Classes include a variety of interesting topics ranging from chemistry and self-defense to bitcoin theory and Harry Potter.     Energy Literacy, Engagement and Action Program (Energy LEAP) at UNC Chapel - Energy LEAP is a free, week long summer institute for rising 9th - 12th graders that take place on UNC Chapel Hill's campus. During this program students conduct hands on and minds on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities. Energy LEAP will take place from August 5-9, 2019. This is a FREE program, and students who are selected will receive a $150 visa gift card for attending.
