I’m Caitlin Ross, and this will be my thirteenth year teaching and first year teaching at Newlin Elementary! Prior to coming to Newlin, I was a teacher at Hillcrest Elementary. During my time at Hillcrest, I taught fourth and fifth grade, and taught technology to all students, K-5.

I received my undergraduate degrees in Elementary Education and Earth Studies from Guilford College in 2005. In 2010, I took a year of graduate level courses at Elon University, and then decided to change schools to pursue a degree in technology! During the summer of 2013, I completed my coursework at East Carolina University, and graduated with a Masters degree in Instructional Technology.

I enjoy all of the subjects in school, but I have a special love for science and math, and of course, anything having to do with technology! When I’m not at school, I enjoy curling up on the couch to a really good book or getting cozy at Starbucks to drink coffee and do work! I especially love reading books such as the Harry Pottery series, the Chronicles of Narnia, the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and the Twilight Saga. I also enjoy watching movies and series on Netflix and Hulu, and I spend entirely too much time on my laptop, iPad, and iPhone!! :)

I am looking forward to the 2018 – 2019 school year being the best ever at Newlin with my new third graders! If you have any questions about third grade curriculum, how technology is used in our classroom, or want ideas to help your child experience success in all areas, please feel free to call or e-mail me!
