Alamance Burlington Title I Schools

    The purpose of a Title I program is to help at-risk students meet the state's challenging academic content and performance standards.  Schools qualify for Title I funds based on economic need.  Title I offers a variety of services for participating schools which may include: additional teachers and support staff, extra time for instruction, a variety of teaching methods and materials, smaller classes, and additional training for staff.
    For the 2018-2019 school year, ABSS has 15 Title I schools (12 Elementary and 3 Middle).

    Non-Public Schools 

    Non-Public Schools - Title I provides educational services for eligible private school students to assist in acquiring knowledge and skills needed to meet challenging performance standards that all students are required to meet. For the 2018-19 school year,  the Title I Department will assist three participating private schools with tutorial services, instructional resources and professional development for select staff.  These services or other benefits are equitable to those provided to eligible public school students.
