Title II- Preparing, Training, and Recruiting High Quality Teachers and Principals 








    Title II, Part A
    is a federal program that provides supplemental funds to local education agencies to increase student academic achievement through strategies such as: improving teacher and principal quality, increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in the classroom, and increasing the number of highly qualified principals and assistant principals in schools. Title II, Part A is also used to develop partnerships to hold local educational agencies and schools accountable for improvements in student academic achievement.


    Alamance-Burlington Schools uses Title II funds to provide teachers and school leaders with a variety of professional development opportunities with the intent of improved student achievement. Title II funds are also used for teacher licensure coursework reimbursement and teacher mentoring and support.
