    Watch 205 3D Max UVW and Bump Maps (Found in Tutorials )

    Create a bump map for your barrel

    Create a rock, apply a material and bump map to it (in the folder "Tutorials ,  My Textures" you will find rock material you can use)

     

    Create a game terrain using a height map, material and bump map (refer to 103 3D Max Height Map) if you do not remember how to do this.

    Find the video in the AGAD folder under "6 Modeling" and complete the barrel (follow along with the tutorial).  Once done, use a UV Unwrap and add material to your barrel. 
     
    After you have finished the barrel, model two of your own low poly objects that would be found in an abandoned town.  One should be a man-made object and one should be a natural object.  You are only allowed to have 700 polys in your model (you can see how many polys your model has by pressing "7" on the keyboard).  Your model should also include a UV Map for the material and look as real as possible.

    Soon we will be dividing ourselves up into game cells of four or five. This will be the groups that you will be working with for a very long time!  I will help with this process after the first assignment is complete.
     
    You will be filling out a Gantt chart today.  Knowing that you will be creating a playable demo for a game including many marketing components such as a video trailer, fill out the schedule using 11 weeks.
     
    Start brainstorming about game ideas.  Write down EVERYTHING you discuss.

    ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR CHARACTER, MAKE SURE YOU REMEMBER 3D MAX BY GOING THROUGH THE TUTORIALS AND/OR FINDING SOMENTHING ON YOUR OWN TO WORK ON (IN 3D MAX).

    Create a resume for yourself.  Write the resume based on where you feel you would be best suited for a game design team.  YOU MAY ONLY USE REAL INFORMATION.  If you use any information that is not real, you will be working by yourself.  This is due WEDNESDAY! (If you do not remember what is in a resume or what it should look like, you may look it up.) If you kept your resume from Game Art, you may use it IF you update it and change the layout.

    Once you have finished your character animation, add a scene in which he/she is walking. 
     
    If you get done early today, please add lighting, cameras, materials to your environment.  Try to model other things that challenge you.  If you feel that you don't need to increase your skills anymore please let me know and I will let you take the 3D Max test, otherwise, you should be working on something in your scene or on your character.
