    My name is Manda Stiegel. I've been teaching since 2000. My undergraduate degree was in unified Elementary Education and Special Education from Keuka. I received my Masters in Elementary Education from Elon. I have taught 3rd-5th grade, and I have been a reading specialist for K-5. I am currently the Innovation Lab teacher where we focus on tying coding and robotics to our curriculum standards. 


    Innovation Lab Assignments 1st-5th graders

    Time: 40 minutes once a week 

    Assignment: Continue on Course work on Code.org 

    How do we access the course?

    1. Log into Clever
    2. On the district page (NOT my page), click on Code. 
    3. Click on their Course 

    Course A for 1st graders, Course B for second graders, Course C for third graders, and Course D for 4th and 5th graders. (Please note, some students have finished their course work and are starting on the next level.) 

           4. Once the course loads, the try now button on top will change to continue. Click continue. 

     Please do not skip lessons. Challenge puzzles are to be completed. The light bulb in the directions will offer hints. 

     If your child is stuck on a puzzle, please email me at manda_stiegel@abss.k12.nc.us I will be able to offer help.



    Innovation Lab Assignments Kindergarten

    Time: 40 minutes once a week

    Assignment: Continue activities on Kodable

    How do we access Kodable?

    1. Log into Clever
    2. Click on Mrs. Stiegel (purple kangaroo)
    3. Click on Kodable 

    I am using the free version of Kodable. There will be limited amount that is accessible to the students. The puzzles are in the tree house. But there are many other free things on the "map" when you login. The students enjoy creating their new "fuzz". If you need your class code, click on Kodable to the left. Codes can be found there.  



    Scratch Jr and Scratch Lessons

    In addition to Code.org, students K-2 students may also use my Scratch Jr videos to create projects and 3-5 students may also use my Scratch videos to create games and projects.
