Ms. Rhonda Farmer

Ms. Farmer serves Hugh M. Cummings High School, Broadview Middle School and CTEC as a Career Development Coordinator (CDC).  As a CDC Ms. Farmer works with students to determine which of the 3 E's (Enrollment, Enlistment, or Employment) they will pursue after high school.  It is Ms. Farmer's goal to help students determine what Career Pathway is right for them based on their skills and abilities.  Along with working with students she also serves as support personnel for the CTE Department Teachers.

 

In 2000, after graduating from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in Business and Marketing Education with a concentration in Psychology, Ms. Farmer began her teaching career as a Marketing Educator and DECA Advisor to Eastern Alamance High School.  In 2001 she moved to Walter M. Williams High School until February of 2014.   While at Williams she served as the Director of The WHS Academy of Finance, the school's DECA Advisor, a Technology Resource Coordinator, and a Business/Marketing Educator.   In 2009 she became a Nationally Board Certified Teacher and in 2011 she completed a Master of Arts in Career and Technical Education from Ball State University.  Over her career she has also been an active participant in the North Carolina Association of Career and Technical Educators.  Within the organization she has served at the President for the Marketing Education Division and currently serves as the Newsletter Committee Chairperson for the Guidance and Career Development Division.  

 

When Ms. Farmer is not at school she enjoys spending time with family and friends, floating her pool or playing billiards.   Beginning in 2012 Ms. Farmer has competed in the American Pool Players Association World Championships annually.   Her best finishing team finished 5th in the World for 9 Ball in 2017.  Prior to playing billiards she was ranked 23rd in the US for women by the American Dart Association.  She represented the East Coast in the East/West All-Star competition and competed for a seat on the US Team.
