The Western Alamance Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society inducted its first class of new members in 2017. The candidate selection process begins after the second quarter of each school year. Accepted candidates are inducted annually at a special Induction Ceremony in May.

Membership is an honor bestowed upon deserving 7th and 8th grade students, who exemplify the NJHS ideals of Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Character and Citizenship. Eligible candidates will achieve an A in every class, each quarter of their middle school years, with the exception of no more than two B’s, overall (not quarterly). They must also have been enrolled for a period equivalent to one semester at WAMS. Upon meeting grade level, enrollment and academic standards, candidates are then considered based on their service and leadership experiences, as well as character and citizenship qualities.

Active members will maintain high academic standards, assist with designated projects within the school, as well as set an example of service and leadership in their extracurricular activities.
