Degrees and Certifications:
Hi everyone!! The 2020-2021 school year will be my 11th year of teaching, my 5th year in 2nd grade, and my 2nd year at Highland! I grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, so I am a true Florida girl at heart. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from North Carolina A&T State University. While there, I received dual licensure in elementary and special education. I was also a member of the honors program, swim team, cross country team, track team, and Sigma Gamma Rho sorority.
Now, I am a football wife and mother. We have been married for almost 10 years. My husband, Brandon, is a teacher and football coach at Western Alamance High School. He also has his own business called No Rush BBQ. We have 3 daughters, Brandi, Braci, and Brayah. Brayah and Braci are in 2nd and 4th grade at Highland. Brandi is in 7th grade at Western. We also have a dog named BJ. He is a Yorkie and Jack Russell mix.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy being active at my church and decorating!! I also like swimming, running, cooking, dancing, and spending time with my family. I love all things pink, Amazon, Target, pasta, and especially THE BEACH!
I am beyond blessed to be at Highland! The love and support among the staff is unmatched. We all have a strong passion for education and a true desire to help our students grow. I am excited to develop trusting relationships with you and your children and passionate about providing a rich learning experience that will last a LIFETIME!
