Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. April WIlliams
Most autobiographies start at the beginning so let me start by saying I lived in northwest Ohio until I was 12 when I moved to the piedmont and became an adopted Tarheel (Go Heels!).
Hard work and luck earned me a spot as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where I majored in history with a social studies teacher's licensure. My professors were so influential that I stayed in school part time to earn my Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Social Studies Education in 2008. Earning my master's degree was an achievement, but, more importantly, it has shaped my teaching over the last decade in a pivotal way. Graduate school, by far, one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Still living in Greensboro, I share my days with my husband and two elementary aged children. We enjoy camping- or glamping as some call it- most summers while travelling the United States and even Canada.
In closing, I take my profession profoundly serious. Teaching, formal or informal, makes all other careers possible. It is a joy and privilege to be your teacher this semester.
