In case you’re curious, I go by “Brooks,” but my school email is based on my first name, so it’s under “Jacob.” Sorry for the inconvenience. I will respond to either, and also a bunch of other things like “mister,” “teacher,” “mister teacher,” or “dude.” This is my 10th year teaching and my first at Williams High School. I didn’t start out wanting to be a teacher and I worked in retail for 5 years before becoming a teacher. I like to think that I bring a “real world” perspective to what I teach.
I believe that the way to success lies in hard work and open communication. I will be available at least one day after school each week to work with students, but I am also more than happy to stay any day that is needed. In addition to preparing students for state testing and the next grade, I want students to begin thinking about their post-high school options and what we can do to achieve their goals.
I appreciate your time and look forward to working with you this year.
