• WHAT ARE WE LEARNING?
     
     

    ELA:  Students are learning comprehension strategies, such as how to ask questions while they are reading text in order to understand the book.  Currently, we are reading The Sign of the Beaver as a whole class.  All students are engaged in daily Guided Reading as well.

     

    Math:  Our first unit is learning is gathering data, making and interpreting line graphs, as well as volume.  Students are also engaged in daily problem solving.

     

    Science: Our first unit is covering the water cycle and a big study of Weather.  This is a large unit in which students will learn weather tools, global patterns, and ways to predict the weather.  Students should study their notes nightly!

     

    Social Studies:  The yearly Social Studies focus is learning about America from beginning to the Civil War.  This year, we will begin with colonial life and the American Revolution.
