    Profile:

Hello! My name is Mrs. Taleen Palmer and I am super excited to be one of the school counselors here at Southern Middle School! My passion is to help students achieve their academic, personal, and career goals through delivery of effective advocacy, leadership, collaboration, and systemic change. I thoroughly enjoy working with students in classrooms, groups, and individually. I sincerely believe that each one of us has the power to overcome any obstacle; sometimes we just need to find it.

For the 2019-2020 school year I will be serving the sixth and lower eighth grade populations, alongside the other school counselor here, Ms. Joy Hayes, who cares for the seventh and upper eighth grade students.

    A Little About Me:
I taught ninth grade Spanish in the Philadelphia school system before realizing my dream of becoming a middle school counselor. I obtained my BA in Spanish from the University of Pittsburgh before graduating with my Master's in School Counseling from Salem College. This is my first year working as a professional school counselor, and I could not feel more complete in accomplishing my professional goals.
