Dr. Thomas
In appreciation for our Principal, Dr. Thomas, The Engineering class presented him with a gift and their thoughts of him, his leadership style and the impact he has had on their education as well as their lives.
The Times-News / CTEC Automotive
The Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) continues to offer students a variety of courses that may not be available at the six traditional high schools in Alamance-Burlington School System.
Who can enroll?
All ABSS students in grades 9-12 are eligible to take courses at CTEC provided they have passed any required prerequisite courses. Many of our courses can be taken by 9th graders and do not require any prerequisite courses. We have a number of middle school students who register in their 8th-grade year to attend their first semester of high school.
How do I get enrolled?
There is currently no application process to attend CTEC. If a student registers for one or more of the courses offered here, we will make every attempt to work these courses into the student's schedule. Because of scheduling and demand for our classes we highly encourage students to register for two classes and an alternate for each semester they would like to attend.
How do I get there?
We have busses which bring students from their home school to CTEC in the mornings and afternoons. These busses also pick students up and deliver them back to their home schools after the second and fourth block. In addition, we have ample parking for students who possess the required credentials to park at their home schools and who currently drive to those perspective schools.
When are classes?
Currently, we offer morning and afternoon blocks of class. Students can take two classes in the morning for the first and second block, or they can take classes third and fourth blocks in the afternoon. Classes in the morning begin at 8:30 and at 12:25 in the afternoon
