Bear Bryant - Principal
Hello Red Devil Family!
I am excited to be beginning my second year as principal of Graham High School. Prior to joining the team at Graham, I served as an assistant principal at Williams High School in Burlington since 2016. Before coming to ABSS, I worked for 10 years as an educator in Guilford County Schools. While there, I taught high school social studies in both the traditional and magnet settings at Southeast Guilford High School and The Early College at Guilford. I obtained my AIG certification for working with gifted students during this time and was also recognized as Teacher of the Year for The Early College at Guilford in 2008. In 2012, I left the classroom and pursued my Master of School Administration from UNCG as a part of the North Carolina Principal Fellows Program. After graduating from UNCG in 2014, I began working as an assistant principal at Southern Guilford High School, where I remained until joining the administrative team at Williams.
I currently reside in Burlington with my wife, Erika, and my sons, Conner and Carter. Family is extremely important to me and has helped shape my approach to working with children. My passion is working with high school students and helping them find success in all aspects of their development. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with the wonderful educators at Graham as well as our students, parents, and community members in order to continue our strong tradition of excellence. This year, our focus will be on improving our academic outcomes, engaging our community, and improving our graduation rate. We look forward to your support this year and hope you will find a way to be involved in encouraging our educators and students as we build on the already strong foundation at GHS.
