I am your teacher, Valerie Sellars. This is my 16th year teaching. I have been teaching at Graham High School for 9 years. Prior to that I taught high school in Virginia and middle school in Orange County and Guilford County. I graduated from Elon University with a B.S. in Biology, completed my teaching certification at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and graduated from Averett University with a M.Ed. in Biology. I have taught various life science courses, but I specialize in teaching Biology. This year I will teach CP Biology and Honors Biology.
Welcome to my classroom website for Biology classes at Graham High School. Biology is the study of life and its change over time within the natural world.
In this course students will investigate these phenomena through discussion, cooperative learning, laboratory work, written reflection, and scientific inquiry.
In this class there is an End of Course (EOC) exam where students are tested on the North Carolina science essential standards. Because of the importance of this state exam, it is crucial that students review their notes daily, be organized, keep up with their assignments, and be prepared for class every day.
