Welcome Fifth Graders!
Welcome to fifth grade! I am looking forward to great things this school year.
This is my 13th year teaching here at Andrews Elementary. This year we are blocking in fifth grade and I'm teaching ELA (English Language Arts) and Social Studies, while Mrs. Bethea is teaching Math and Science. I have also taught third and fourth grades in the past. I have enjoyed working with the Andrews staff, students and parents and look forward to continuing to do so this year.
I grew up in Durham, NC where I attended school. I went to Durham Technical Community College and received my Associates Degree, before transferring to The University of North Carolina at Greensboro where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
I have been married to my best friend, Jonathan for almost seven years. We have a 3 year old daughter, Nora. I am expecting our second child, a boy, in November. I love spending time with my family and friends. Some of my hobbies are reading and shopping. I love to travel and enjoy visiting new places. I have visited much of the US, been to Europe, and the Caribbean. I love warm weather and being outside.
