    COVID-19 Update: ABSS schools will be following Plan C for distance learning for the duration of the first quarter. Zoom meetings will be held daily, and recordings will be made available for those unable to attend live classes. Coursework will be found on Canvas.
     
    Welcome to 8th grade!  Last century, I graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in History.  This is my twenty-first year teaching, all of which have been spent in the 8th grade at Western Middle.  I love this school and community and I am looking forward to another great school year. 
     
    This year in social studies, students will focus on North Carolina history with an added emphasis on United States history. 
     
    I am passionate about what I teach, so we're going to have fun!  Special units of study, enrichment projects and activities are planned for the year...stay tuned for more details.
