Ms. Debbie Hipp, ART
This is my 30th year teaching Art with Alamance-Burlington Schools and my 26nd year at Woodlawn Middle School. Since 1998, I have been a National Board Certified Teacher in Early Adolescent and Young Adult Art.
In art this year, students will be learning about the Elements of Art and Principles of Design.
The seventh and eighth graders will be studying different art styles and artists such as: Star Wallowing Bull and Minnie Evans. At the completion of each project, students will write a self-reflection in their sketchbook. Each project will have two grades, the art project and the self-reflection.
The sixth graders will be learning about different techniques and media in Art such as, shading, color mixing, observation skills and perspective . They will also learn about color and how artists, such as Paul Gauguin use color to express moods and ideas and then create works of their own in a similar style.
