P.E. & Health Teacher
Email: Robert_Wiles@abss.k12.nc.usWelcome to Health and Physical Education!I am Coach Wiles and this is my 6th year teaching at WMS. Here at Western Middle, I coach Football along with Baseball at the High School. In addition to the athletics, I teach Health and Physical Education for 6th, 7th and 8th grades. As for myself, I graduated from Ferrum College (Va), in 2010, as I played baseball there for 4 years. In my time at Ferrum, I majored in Physical Education while minoring in Teacher Education. If you would like to contact me, you may do so through phone contact with the school or emailing me at the address given above. I look forward to having your son/daughter in P.E/Health.All students will have one rotation of health and four rotations of PE this year. Health class requires each student to have a notebook and pencils. Students must have appropriate clothes and tennis shoes for PE each day, although dressing out will be optional. PE clothes must meet school dress code policy and allow for movement during physical activity. The following clothing items are examples of what is not PE appropriate: jeans, boots, flip flops, heels, Sperry's and shorts that are shorter than fingertip length. All students will start with a grade of 100 each week for PE and can lose points by not participating, not following directions, and not being prepared with appropriate clothing. Health grades will be based upon activities assigned during each individual health class. Nine week grades will be determined by an average of health and PE based on the amount of time spent in each class during the term.
