My name is Mary Squires and I am the Librarian at Graham Middle School.  Welcome to my webpage!

This is my 4th year at Graham Middle School.  It is my pleasure to work with such wonderful students, parents and staff!  I have taught in the Alamance-Burlington School system for the past 32 years.  Beginning as a classroom teacher, I have taught all grades K-5.  I have also been a Technology Teacher in grades K-5.  I received my Master in Library and Information Science from North Carolina Central University and have been a Librarian for 11 years.

Thank you for visiting my page! I put all of my links to some awesome websites for you to view! You will find out about following your digital footprints, how to avoid plagiarism on your reports that you have to do for classwork and Where to go to find some fantastic reading for pleasure and for class, of course. My focus for these young minds is to become critical thinkers and reading is the best tool to guide them in that direction.  Please log in to GMS Library by scrolling down to the bottom of GMS Home page and finding the Green square that says Destiny. click on the the icon. You will be prompted to click try again, but, click on the word HOME, then click on the Alamance Burlington, then click Graham Middle School. You will see my welcome page. Students click on log in and type in your user name (lunch number) and password (you know your password). From there you will see some links to some amazing, useful and fun sites!  Try them, you will like them!

We have a Makerspace in the Library at GMS!  Students can come in and make for projects, science fair, and for pleasure.  Ask your teacher how you can earn some time to come and make a great creation!

I am always needing materials for the Makerspace and some items are:

    1. Clean egg cartons
    2. Paper towel rolls
    3. glue
    4. acrylic paint of all colors
    5. small and medium paint brushes
    6. scraps of cloth that can be used (we will cut them into strips)
    7. yarn
    8. cotton balls
    9. clear plastic containers and water bottles
    10. oragami paper for folding

And this is just a few things!  I could also use cardboard.  We serve the students who want to learn in all areas and all disciplines so lets keep their creativity flowing!  One more thing! Students, you must remember to read your google email!  This is how you will know that your books are overdue!
