Welcome to my website!
I moved from Zanesville, Ohio to Graham, North Carolina two years ago, to teach at Haw River Elementary School. I have a 21 year old son who has recently married at Kure Beach in North Carolina. My past experiences have been in the areas of Speech and Language Pathology for 13 years; three of those years in Pensacola, Florida and then 10 years in Coshocton, Ohio. Next, I obtained my Intervention Specialist degree and taught students with learning disabilities, students with multiple disabilities, and students with severe behavior disorders while living in Ohio for the next 14 years. This is my third year teaching in North Carolina for Haw River Elementary as a fourth grade teacher with a specialty in the area of reading with the added content area of Social Studies. I also have been a coach for the Science Olympiad team at Haw River for the last two years, and encouraged all of my students to participate in "The Battle of the Books." My class mantra is, "Own it, fix it, and then move on." I have high expectations for all students and I never believe that the learning process stops for any one person. I will push my students and question them constantly to model and practice problem solving skills that they will need to be a active citizen within his/her community. I am looking forward to a great year!!!!
