Mrs. EwbankMeredith Ewbank, M.Ed.AIG TeacherE-mail: firstname.lastname@example.orgWelcome! Bienvenido! Welkom! Willkomen!Use the navigation to the left to find important dates, the AIG class schedule, AIG information, and more! Information regarding the district AIG plan and program can be found on the ABSS AIG page.I am excited to be a part of the South Graham and North Graham Elementary school communities for the 2017-2018 school year! This is my ninth year teaching in ABSS. I have taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade at Smith Elementary in Burlington as well as 7th grade math and advanced math at Southern Middle and 1st-5th grade AIG students at South and North Graham.I grew up in Greensboro and received my undergraduate degree from Elon University in elementary and middle grades math education. I quickly decided to return to Elon for a Master's in gifted education. My husband and I are Elon Phoenix fans and VCU Ram fans! I love spending time outdoors walking, reading, or just soaking up the sunshine. I am excited to be back in the classroom after being out on maternity leave at the end of last school year; baby Ethan is growing so fast, and I love spending every spare moment with him!I am looking forward to a great year, and as my 7th graders always said, "be ready for your brain to hurt!"
AIG Parent Meeting
Parents of students attending AIG at South Graham are invited to attend a meeting on Tuesday, September 19th at 6:00pm in the AIG classroom on the red hall. We will review the differentiated curriculum and instruction options provided to meet your child's academic needs as well as the process for referrals, screening, and AIG testing. Spanish translation will be provided.
The deadline for AIG referrals is on Tuesday, November 21st (before Thanksgiving break). Referrals should be made in writing and should include an explanation of why you would like your child tested for AIG. A referral letter ensures that the AIG committee will review your child's academic performance and social and emotional development to consider whether or not testing is appropriate; a referral does not guarantee AIG testing. Referrals can be sent by letter or email to principals.
