Welcome to Eighth Grade Science!
Eighth Grade Science
This is my third year teaching at Broadview Middle School and I am very excited to be returning to teach eighth grade science! I am excited to watch my students learn throughout the year and I welcome any parental involvement! Please feel free to email me with any questions and/or concerns at firstname.lastname@example.org
This year we will be covering many topics including energy transfer, the hydrosphere, ecosystems, chemistry, biotechnology, pathogens/outbreak, and molecular biology .
We are starting the school year with Energy Transfer. In this unit we will be discussing natural resources and how they are used to produce electricity. We will then examine each natural resource and weigh the costs and benefits of each. This unit focuses primarily on North Carolina Essential Standards for Grade 8 Science 8.P.2.1 and 8.P.2.2.
Please let me know if you would like to discuss additional resources or activities for your student!
