Good Evening Patriot Families. Here are our updates and reminders.

On Tuesday, March 1 all Juniors will take the ACT. All other students will have a remote learning day which means an assignment will be posted for each class.  9, 10 and 12 graders do not report to campus.  The Remote Learning day is for High School only.   It is imperative that every junior is on campus to test unless they are experiencing symptoms. Instructors at CTEC and ACC have been notified that their Junior students will be missing class that day in order to take this state-required assessment. Teachers are communicating with students where they should report when they arrive on campus. Juniors should be on time, arriving at campus at 8:00 am with their laptop, charger, and a No. 2 pencil that is not mechanical. Testing will begin at 8:30. Cell phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices are not allowed during testing. If students bring electronics with them, they will need to turn the devices in upon checking into their room assignment. A bagged breakfast and a special lunch will be provided to students. No one is allowed to leave the building before the end of the testing session. We look forward to see you on March 1st for our ACT Testing.

Senior stat forms were given out last Monday in homeroom and mailed to seniors. This is so the yearbook staff can list senior accomplishments in the yearbook. These are due to Ms. Bare in C-1 on Monday, February 28. Students who do not meet this deadline will not have their accomplishments listed in the yearbook.

Students who received a senior superlative were supposed to have their pictures taken last week. If you received a superlative and did not come for your picture, you need to see Ms. Bare in C-1 on Monday to take care of this.

Yearbooks continue to be on sale. You can purchase online at www.yearbookforever.com or in C-1. The cost is $90. If you wish to order an iTag with your yearbook, the order must be placed by March 15.

MASK UPDATE: Update from Alamance-Burlington Schools: Regarding our district mask-optional status that went into effect on Monday evening, February 21. At that time, there was still a federal order in place that required masks to be worn by all students and staff on ABSS buses. BUT on Friday, February 25th, the Centers for Disease Control lifted the federal requirement for masks on all public school buses. Students and staff can now choose whether to wear a mask on an ABSS bus or not. Masks are now optional on ABSS buses for all students and staff, effective immediately.

We have updated our mask-optional guidance posted on the ABSS website to reflect this recent change and it is effective beginning on Monday, February 28.

Good Evening Patriot Families, here are our updates and reminders.  Report Cards were sent out through parent emails on Wednesday/Thursday.  If your student brought home a printed report card on Friday, you need to call the office to get an email address on file so that you can receive electronic copies of the report card moving forward.  This will be how we will be delivering report cards from this point as well.

Students are expected to be in class on time.  This also means for first block.  School starts at 8:30am.  Students arriving after 8:30 will be marked tardy, which will then head to discipline consequences up to losing parking privileges.  I understand traffic can be challenging but students are waiting until the last minute to try to get to class.  The school has opened up a place for students starting at 7:30am so no student should be late.

Don't forget the entrance for the student parking lot in the mornings for parents and students - can only be entered using a RIGHT TURN into the parking lot.  This has been happening since the beginning of this school year. So for safety reasons, please abide by our requests.
