    What does digital citizenship mean?

Digital citizenship is all about online interactions.  If you've ever sent an email, created any kind of social media account, or Googled something, you've definitely got a digital footprint.  Digital Citizenship is an understanding of appropriate online behavior and technology use.

    Why does it matter?

Colleges, employers - everyone looks at websites and social media accounts.  It's important to have a good digital footprint to get in to schools or get hired.

Athletes, celebrities, politicians - all kinds of people are trying to figure out how act online.  Sometimes they mess up and have to apologize.

Having good digital skills helps prepare you for the rest of your life, no matter what you want to do.
