Here at E.M. Yoder we are in the heart of Mebane which is supported by a strong community.  We are a part of wonderful learning community that has great students, teachers and parents.  We believe that each student brings richness to our community of learners.  We are committed to educating the whole child and ensuring that each student has a strong learning foundation.  It is our goal to provide rigorous, engaging learning experiences for our students to instill a passion for learning that will develop our students into true life long learners.

Currently we are going into our third year as a global school.  It has been and continues to be an exciting journey as we connect our E.M. Yoder students to the world.  This has helped to expand our knowledge of the world as a learning community, helped to develop awareness of global challenges and to connect our students to the global world! Additionally, we are excited to be able to offer the 90/10 Spanish Dual Language program.

This is my seventh year as principal at  E.M. Yoder Elementary and my 21st year as a North Carolina educator.  I worked as an elementary classroom teacher in both Carteret County and Alamance-Burlington Schools and as an assistant principal here in Alamance County prior to coming to E.M Yoder Elementary.  I  am thrilled to be a part of such a special, hard working and dedicated learning community.

I am a life-long learner and Tarheel fan at heart.  I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and also completed the School Administration program there as well. I am passionate about reading, writing and communicating and feel it is one of the greatest gifts we can give to our children.  I earned a Master's in Reading Education from East Carolina University and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from UNC-Greensboro.  I am committed to life long learning and staying current on research based best practices. In May of 2016 I completed my doctorate in Educational Leadership at UNC-Greensboro.
