Mrs. Nelson

I am excited to be here at Williams. I am a lifelong resident of Greensboro who graduated from Dudley High School. I received my Undergraduate degree in business administration from Shaw University in Raleigh. I completed Post Baccalaureate Studies at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro for my North Carolina teaching license and I have a Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. Previously, I taught in Guilford County for 20 years.

I am proud to be here in Alamance County. I know that our district is providing a quality education to its students. I have experienced firsthand the educational programs and initiatives offered by this county and these are excellent building blocks to offer equitable opportunities and ensure academic readiness for all students to be successful. I am committed to continuing to build partnerships with my school community by preparing students for success, academically and professionally.

Personally, I am married and have 2 adult children. My son is a graduate of East Carolina University and my daughter graduated from North Carolina A&T State University. We have a boxer named Zeus who is 2 years old. When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling and participating in amazing excursions like riding a camel in Dubai, feeding an elephant and playing with tigers in Thailand, swimming with dolphins in Mexico or riding horses on the beach in the Bahamas.
