Mrs. Ida Kidd
Hello, thank you for looking at my webpage. This is my second year at the Alamance Burlington Early College, as the MTSS Coach and Testing Coordinator. My position is split between ABEC and CTEC. As the Multiple Tier System of Support Coach, I support students who may be struggling at school. The struggle could be academic or behavioral. Since we have so few behavior issues, I mainly offer academic support. As the Testing Coordinator, I coordinate all state testing along with the PSAT, PreACT, and ACT. The last three tests are all administered during the school day.
A little about me, I came to Alamance County in 1992 when I married my husband, Marshall Kidd. Marshall was an ABSS principal and has since retired. I was at Eastern Alamance High School that year completing my School Counseling degree. From the 1993 school year through 2005, I was a school counselor at Graham High School. From there I moved to Southern Alamance High School from 2005 to 2012, again as a school counselor. I spent one year at Western Alamance High School before being named the Director of Secondary School Counseling for ABSS. Due to budget cuts, I spent one year at Alexander Wilson Elementary School before returning to the Central Office as the Lead School Counselor. As a survivor of breast cancer, I stepped away from the lead position and came to the Early College and CTEC in 2019. Prior to 1992, I was the Associate Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at Mars Hill University.
Marshall and I have one daughter, Mariah who is a senior at NCSU majoring in Environmental Science and Plant Biology. She has a minor in Ecology and Vocal Performance. She hopes to continue her studies at NCSU after graduation to earn her master's degree. In addition we have one indoor dog and three cats. We love to go to the western NC mountains, where I am from and to the beach.
I believe all children can learn, given the right atmosphere and support. My entire career has been in education and supporting students in making informed decisions about their academic and professional careers. I support students academically, personally/socially, and with career development. If I can ever support your student, feel free to contact me.
Have a wonderful school year.
