  • Job Shadowing for Juniors

    Job Shadowing for Juniors will be held on Thursday, November 15.  Juniors who wish to spend a day of career exploration with a career professional should see Mrs Johnson in A1 to obtain an application or visit her webpage.  Applications are due back NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, OCTOBER 23.  Late applications for job shadowing will not be accepted.  This is the only opportunity to participate in job shadow for this school year.

  • High School students and parents, want to learn more about the Alamance Career Accelerator Program?

    Career Accelerator Program  

    Alamance CAP is a partnership with local businesses, the Alamance Chamber, and Alamance Community College where interested high school juniors and seniors can apply for a paid apprenticeship program while still in high school that offers a free associate’s degree in Mechatronics from ACC and a guaranteed job upon completion. Students are paid by the company while working and while attending classes at ACC to earn their Mechatronics degree.

     

    If you are interested in learning more about this career opportunity that begins in high school, please attend one of the information sessions.

  • ABSS Bond Q & A Sessions Scheduled
    Alamance-Burlington Schools (ABSS) will host three informal question and answer sessions for citizens regarding the district’s $150 million bond proposal that will be on the ballot for the November 6 election. Representatives from the ABSS Facilities and Maintenance Division will be available to answer questions from the public and discuss the reasons for and the scope of nine projects that will be funded with bond proceeds. Bond projects include construction of a new high school and specified improvements at all 6 current high schools, South Mebane and Pleasant Grove elementary schools.

    Citizens may arrive at any time during the scheduled bond information sessions as follows:

    Monday, Oct. 15

    Do you like working with your hands?  Do you like problem solving?  Do you want to earn a degree and be debt free?  If so you may be interested in attending the Career Accelerated Program (CAP)  Parent/Student Information night November 5th at 6pm in the media center.  Even though this program is for current juniors and seniors, ALL students are invited to attend to be exposed to a viable option for college and career readiness.
