6/3/18

Please make sure your student has had breakfast each day and a good night sleep. There are no homerooms so exams start at 8:10 each morning. Students need to report promptly to their testing sites. All cell phones will be taken up when students enter the classroom before the exam begins and returned after the exam ends (that means when everyone is finished). This is to prevent any misadministration. If students turned in their permission slip, they may leave once they are dismissed for lunch. Students taking afternoon exams should be in their testing site at 12:30. CTEC Buses will be running twice each day to accommodate students at 7:55 and 11:40. Afternoon Buses will run at normal time.

The Exam Schedule has been posted on our website. Students with accommodations or conflicts have been notified of their changes. If students have questions, they can see an administrator for directions.

Students are only required to be present during their scheduled exam time. Students may leave early or come in late if they only have one exam per day. They are not required to be in attendance if they do not have an exam. Friday is a Makeup Exam Day as well as an Early Release Day. Buses will run at 12:15. Only students who are taking a makeup exam has to attend school that day.

Please make sure that students have turned in all materials to their classroom teachers.

Good Luck to Everyone on their EXAMS!

This is all of our announcements. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the office. Thank you for your continued support and Good Night.

The student and a parent/guardian need to sign the course verification sheet and return it by this Friday, April 13th. All forms need to be returned even if you do not wish to make any changes.

If your student signed up for an Honors or AP course they will have a blue form attached to your course verification sheet. You do not need to return the blue form but the student needs to initial and have a parent or guardian initial that the blue form was received. Please initial in the appropriate spot on the course verification sheet. Again, these forms are due back to their homeroom teacher by this Friday.

On Wednesday, January 17, Alamance-Burlington Schools will be closed for students and staff due to the inclement weather forecast.

Due to the inclement weather, the first day we return to school we will begin exams. If school reports at regular time, students will take their first block exam and we will follow the exam schedule already created.

A connectEd will be sent out to remind students once a decision is made.

1/14/18

Good Evening Patriot Families, This is Teresa Faucette with this week's updates and reminders. Monday is a Holiday so No school. The Tony Perrou Basketball Tournament will be taking place on Monday. JV Boys will play at 10:15, Varsity Girls play at 4 and Varsity Boys play at 5:30.

There is a lot of information to pass on about exams so please make sure you listen to the entire message or read your email.

1) Students MUST complete the online test tutorial before they are permitted to participate in online testing per DPI; if not done so through HR, then Mr. Kirby in the D2 lab can assist you with this.

2) The Exam Schedule has been updated on our website here.; one test per day with optional review sessions in the afternoon. Please refer to this document regarding expectations for attendance.

3) As many of you already know, DPI has made it clear that no cell phones or other electronics may be possessed by a student during an exam session. Even if a student is finished, they may not have any device while the test is still going on...please plan to power the device down and submit it to the teacher before the exam session starts to avoid any issues as it will be an automatic mis-administration if that happens.

4) Please do NOT plan on picking up your child BEFORE 11:15 each day; once it is deemed that testing has been completed in an area, the administration will dismiss students to lunch and they may check out at that time. Please be respectful of this as we cannot interrupt test sessions just because one student is finished - exams vary in the time needed to complete.

5) All materials and assignments have to be into your teachers ASAP - the teachers still have deadlines to keep on submitting grades and they need time to grade and/or enter exam scores to complete this process. To calculate your final grade, the Q1 grade is worth 40%, the Q2 grade is worth 40% and the EXAM grade is worth 20%...together you have the final semester average for the course.

6) If a student misses an exam start or is absent for any reason, make-up testing will be handled in the afternoons or the official make-up day on Tues 1/23. Please be on time and ready to test so you are able to sit during the regular session and not have to wait several hours or come back another time to take your exam.

7) Please make sure that your student gets enough sleep and eats breakfast before each exam.

 7/10/17 (Schedules Announcement)

As some of you may have noticed, student schedules are now appearing in Power School as the NC Department of Public Instruction has released the program for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year.  Although you are able to see a schedule, please understand that this is incomplete and not based on current information at this time.  We still have a few more staff positions to fill before final decisions on course availability can be determined, as well as rearranging any existing courses based on student needs, teaching licenses or facility use.  If you will give the administration and counselors a few weeks to iron out the logistics, we will be happy to discuss concerns regarding course selections once we have the majority of the conflicts resolved and teaching assignments solid.  Our goal is to have all student schedules cleaned up by early August, so we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this process.
