October 25th Safety Drill Message

On Oct. 25, Alamance Community College - in conjunction with emergency response personnel from Alamance, Guilford, and Orange counties – will conduct a Joint Emergency Training Exercise on the main campus between 10 a.m and noon. Alamance Community College will also test its safety alert system during this training event.

ABSS Early College will operate on our regular schedule. In addition, we will conduct our annual practice lockdown drill on the same day with the assistance of ACC campus security.

The ACC joint emergency exercise will involve a large number of police, fire and rescue units. If you are near the campus, you may witness an extremely realistic re-enactment between 10 a.m. to noon, but there is no cause for alarm; it is only a practice drill.

Emergency personnel will begin arriving on campus as early as 7 a.m. to prepare for this exercise. N.C. DOT will have large LED signs alerting passersby on or near Jimmie Kerr Road that an emergency preparedness drill is underway on the ACC campus. Again, I want to reassure you that the training exercise is only a drill and there is no cause for alarm.

We appreciate the close working relationship that ACC safety officials share with our local emergency responders and the efforts of all involved to ensure that our campus remains as safe as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to give our office a call. Thank you for your continued support for our school.
