Computers are used primarily to strengthen reading, writing and math skills, research, and to reinforce and enhance portions of the curriculum. Thirty computers in the media center are dedicated to reference and research for all classes. Faculty also utilizes data projectors, interactive white boards, digital cameras, and digital video cameras to enhance and enrich the educational process. Western’s campus also offers wireless Internet to school equipment allowing greater usage of laptops for students and teachers. Western students have access to free, filtered email accounts through for educational purposes. Western also offers online courses through the North Carolina Virtual Public School and e2020 virtual classes.
All classrooms are equipped with an interactive whiteboard, a document camera, a laptop, and desktop computer.
