Rebecca Meacham (left) teaches at the Career Technical and Educational Center and won the Superintendent Dr. Lillie Cox’s (right) Teachers’ Excellence Award for the middle and high school teachers for January. A veteran teacher of 18 years, she said upon receiving the award that she is still excited about teaching because she can show kids something new. Meacham demonstrated how she accommodates a learner’s preferred learning style with the use of a project of kids making a video for technical achievement. She uses technology making it related to what the students care about so they will do well and achieve.
