NINE HIGH SCHOOL students represented Alamance-Burlington Schools at the Hispanic Educational Summit at N.C. State hosted by the North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals. Students from Western Alamance, Eastern Alamance, Cummings, Williams and Graham high schools were all chosen by their English-as-a-second-language teachers to represent the district. Speakers included Andres Lara, a motivational speaker known as “the Cuban Guy,” and Univision network news anchor Pamela Silva Conde. Breakout sessions hit on topics like education planning, college-entrance test preparation and immigration reform.
