Western NJROTC put through their paces The Times-News 4/23/14 Reprinted with permission.
HE WESTERN ALAMANCE High School NJROTC cadets thought they were taking a field trip to Parris Island, S.C., but as soon as the bus pulled into the Marine Corps base, drill instructors jumped onto the bus and told them they were temporary boot camp recruits. For the next three days, cadets lived in recruit barracks and trained under a Marine D.I. — 5 a.m. reveille and all. They also visited the Marine Corps Museum and ran through obstacle courses.
