RALEIGH — North Carolina’s House has passed a proposal to replace Common Core testing standards for public schools.
The full House approved its bill Tuesday sending the measure to the Senate, which is unlikely to pass it.
Both the House and Senate both want to remove the current Common Core curriculum. Both chambers want new benchmarks created by the State Board of Education, but the House’s bill is more restrictive in banning the state from using any tests from the current Common Core standards.
