Walker receives the Alamance Scholarship

Christina Elizabeth Walker , a Western Alamance High School graduate, will attend Lenoir-Rhyne University in the fall on the Alamance Scholarship. The four-year scholarship is offered by the Macedonia Lutheran Church in Burlington and is valued at $12,000 over four years. Walker, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Gene Walker, will enter the Lenoir-Rhyne honors program in the fall. While at Western Alamance, Walker was a leader in academics and athletics. An outstanding softball player, she earned Academic All-America and All State honors as a senior. She played varsity softball all four years at Western and was team captain her final year. She was also a member of the National Honor Society.

   Walker has an interest in working with children and plans to major in physical therapy. She hopes to continue her softball career at Lenoir-Rhyne. The Alamance Scholarship was established by the Macedonia Lutheran Church to Lenoir-Rhyne and is open to any eligible high school student in Alamance County or Alamance County student enrolled at the North Carolina School of Science and Math in Durham.
