Turrentine Spanish students excel

Students from Turrentine Middle School received national and state achievement honors on the National Spanish Exam recently. The standardized exams are for grades 6-12, given to measure proficiency and achievement for students studying Spanish as a second language. Receiving honorable mention were eighth-graders Richard Chiqui, John Paul Garcia, Manuel Paredes, Shreya Patel; seventh-grader, Jocelyn Franco Henriquez; bronze medal, eighth-grader, José Barboza; silver medals, eighth-graders, Shiv Patel and Sam Cryan. José Barboza received fifth place for Level 1 bilingual category; Jocelyn Henriquezreceived first place for Level 01 bilingual category.
